Has anyone had an ingrown toenail fixed? I had mine done today, so I am wondering what to expect for pain tonight and for recovery….Surely it can’t be as bad as the pain from an ingrown toenail
My toe is still numb but the freezing is going to come off in about an hour.

Its pretty painful, but I had four done at one time (which youre not supposed to do, but my aunt worked for the doctor who was doing it for free). Just remember to keep your feet above your heart, the throbbing can cause more pain than you can imagine, you are also going to need some help cleaning and bandaging the cuts. ALSO, make sure you do the foot soak, I NEVER pass out but got wozzy and almost fainted for the first week when somone touched my toes, between the grosness and tenderness.. its hard to handle. Make sure you have help!

@Excited To Bee: THANK YOU!
I woke up in the most insane pain last night once the freezing wore off. I know what you mean about the throbbing. OMG!
You had 4 done! YOU are crazy brave!

I had an entire foot done, and then the other one. I was getting constant ingrown toenails, so they put the black nitrate in the nailbed so my nails wouldn’t grow any more. Wear sandals as much as possible, and keep soaking and keeping anti biotics on it! The biggest issue for me was with motocross it caused some pain with my boots and shift foot, but I don’t think that a very common issue, haha.
Good luck hon, you’ll feel so much better in no time!
