Let the universe handle it. Make some attempts to find the owner, 30 years or not. If by some miracle you do find the legitimate owner (or the owner’s son or daughter or something) then you’ll know you did the right thing. If nothing happens, keep it in clear conscience.

Maybe his parents did wrongly aquire them, but YOU inherited them. 🙂

If you ever do stumble upon the real owner, give it back! That’d be a really amazing story!

I’m all for doing the right thing, but this whole saga seems so far in the past, that I’m honestly not even sure how you’d make it “right” now. You had nothing to do with the original acquisition, and since it’s not really even clear what happened, I wouldn’t worry yourself over it!
