I inherited my mom’s 1ct diamond as well. Fiance managed to get it from her and reset it in a classic platinum six prong setting…exactly what I wanted 🙂 My finger size is a 6 and it looks huge on my finger. I’m partial to classic settings so I say stay simple, especially if it is a good quality diamond!

I think that HappilyEverAfter54 has the nicest rings by far… lovely!

narrow shank halo will maximize the look of the stone size. Here’s my setting, which highlights the stone nicely.

I love how people say a one carat diamond needs to have enhancements that make it “look bigger.” It is a big diamond on its own.

Do you have your’s set as a solitaire? Would you mind posting a photo? That seems to be what I’m leaning towards, I also like the simplicity.
That is a gorgeous setting! I’ll definitely keep something like that in mind, thanks! 🙂

true, 1 carat is big, but that’s what the OP is asking for, and there’s nothing wrong with wanting more bling.

I can’t stop saying I love your ring.. GORGEOUS!
I agree on adding a halo for more volume and character but in that size I honestly LOVE round solitaires.

I just realized that. Sorry.

Everyone has such beautiful rings. I went to a store to look at some and try them on in person today.
