My grammie passed awayon New Year’s Eve after being ill with Chrons and Colitis for a year. My mother had been hanging on to her jewelry, and she and her sisters decided to finally go through it today.
I live two states away, but my mom set a couple things aside for me.

The first is this opal ring.
the second and most important is her wedding band

(Neither of those are my hands hahaha)
her wedding band is teeny tiny (she had the daintiest fingers). And I’ll likely burn sage around it (her marriage to my grandfather ended terribly). But I love the idea of sizing it and wearing it as part of a stack.
just wanted to share! Anyone else have inherited jewelry?

im sorry for your loss but how wonderful to have your grandmother’s jewelry. I have only one ring, my grandmother was very poor and had to pawn her wedding ring. but I wear thevone ring every day.

I have my grandma’s wedding band (from her first marriage) and my husband has my dads band (from when he was married to my mom)
The fact that they came from marriages that are no longer doesn’t bother us. If my grandma had never been married to my grandfather, my mom wouldn’t exist. And if my dad never married my mom, I wouldn’t exist! They are special and very sentimental to us which we love!
Sorry for your loss, I’m glad you get to keep something to remember her by though! I say wear the band with pride and always have a piece of her withyou! I love that part about having grandma’s ring.

Lovely! Love the opal, one of my favorite stones and it is rare to find an opal ring like that! What a great reminder of her in your life.
I was lucky to get a few pieces from my grandmother. I have her wedding set, a vintage diamond watch, and her charm bracelet from her world travels.

mghnglnn: I have TONS of my Nana’s jewelry – mostly costume but we had similar style so I wear it all the time. My aunt had my Grammy’s ering diamond set into a pendant necklace for me as a wedding gift and I love it!

Sorry for your loss.
Now I’m going to be totally superficial and say that opal ring is divine. It’s a lovely rememberance of your gran.

really sad time for you bee, but lovely you have some pieces to remember her fondly with, I wear my mothers watch every day, in times of stress or just unease I rub it, makes me think of her helping me face whatever it is together.

I’m sorry about your loss bee, your treasures are beautiful though. The opal ring looks like a really great piece to wear. I have inherited my grandma’s engagement ring and wedding band from the 30s. The set is very special to me because as a little girl I used to admire her set and wish to have one just like it .
