So I took some amazing grad school friends and we went on the hunt. The first place, DB, let me take pictures, but the second place was super secret about their dresses (and even took a water bottle away from my friend who is delivering a baby in 2 weeks). So… these are the David’s Bridal choices. If you have another idea for a curvy woman please let me know in a comment. It will be a vintage/ Pixar Up wedding.
Sorry for the goofy faces and all dresses will be in ivory and actually fit (big butts for the win).
Vote Away ladies!
Keyhole Dress: DB VW9768
Empire Waist Lace: Galina: S8551

I like the keyhole back dress! What’s your wedding like? I can see this working so well for a garden wedding.

I’m really surprised, but I like the ringed lace the best on you. It is amazingly flattering. It really shows off your curves beautifully. It’s my absolute favorite of the pictures you posted. You look beautiful in it. truly beautiful.

@caligurl: Thanks! It’s a vintage wedding at Willow Ridge Manor. It is part Red Rocks, part green lawn mansion.

The keyhole dress is gorgeous! (and would fit your theme well, I think). My second choice would be the T9612, because that was the dress that I intially wanted 🙂

i’m in a very small camp, but love the last one (the sleeved lace) on you! something about the lace pattern on the keyhole dress doesn’t seem quite right to me…

I like the empire waist best – perfect for your figure! My second favorite is the sleeved lace.

Wish I could vote for the ringed lace for you twice. Would look amazing with an elbow length veil and shorter blusher.

Thanks bees! the comments so far have given me lots to think about.

“the second place was super secret about their dresses (and even took a water bottle away from my friend who is delivering a baby in 2 weeks).”
I am very much against any store that won’t let you take pictures, but this is ridiculous. Was Vera Wang or Monique Lhullier giving you a personal sneak preview at their yet-to-be-released line:)
I think you have a great figure for the types of dresses you are looking at. I personally dislike keyhole backs (difficult to fit) and empire waists (unless you are pregnant) so that rules out #1, 2 and 5 for me. My favorite was the satin, even though I love a lace dress.
Check out Casablanca and Allure (yes, I know this is an empire waist) for lace sheaths. I think you will see a better quality and fit with a slightly higher price point (not sure what your budget is). Sorry if these pics are huge.

My favorite is the satin dress. I think it looks great on you (both the front and back of the dress fit great, you basically don’t need any alterations). My second choice is the one with the ringed lace, but since I couldn’t see the back, I voted for the satin dress. I also liked the two-tone color of it!

LOVE the ringed lace dress. It’s unique, it’s classic, it’s just beautiful and it’s gorgeous on you!

I love the ringed lace dress, you pull it off excellently ! I think if you are wanting a vintage wedding, lace is the way to go ! But, I am honestly not a big fan of David’s Bridal’s lace for some reason. I would keep looking though, I don’t think any of them are “the one” . What’s your budget? there are many diff. bridal lines that can give you a well constructed dress with beautiful fabric for under a thousand dollars .
