So, initially we didn’t think to do “inner envelopes” for our invitations. However, now there’s twine to tie all the peices together, so I think a translucent envelope might be a good idea. But how do you find the correct size? For our 5X7 invites, we ordered 5.
25 X 7.25 envelopes, and they work perfect….with the twine 5X7 would’ve been too small. So, is translucent envelopes not an option with the sizes I already have? I need bigger than 5X7 but smaller than 5.25 X 7.25…does that even exist?? EEEK, thoughts???

@MadTownGirl: You know who is really helpful – and in Madison – with this kind of question? Go see Amy at Bob’s Copy Shop, at the intersection of W. Wingra & Park Street. She will be able to help you figure out what you need.

Hmmm, my invitations were 5×7, my translucent inner envelopes were A7 (which I believe is 5.25×7.25), and my outer envelopes were Outer Envelopes #7 (which I believe were 5.5×7.5). My translucent A7 envelopes were tied with twine and fit perfectly in the outer envelopes… So I think you may need to size up to the Outer A7 size if you want to use inner envelopes.

@KCKnd2: Awesome, thanks for the advice. I will probably need to check someone like them out if we really include them!
@reebee: Unfortunately the A7 outers have already been ordered and addressed! Just now I’m thinking we should add the translucent, so that’s where my problem has started. I may just need to scatch this idea…lol. 😉 Darn bride jumping the gun here.
Thanks for responding ladies. 🙂

Vellum (aka translucent) envelopes would look really cool! Double check with the post office that its okay for the address to not be on the outer envelope, though.

I would just skip the vellum envelope. You already said that you’re planning to tie the invites with twine.
