A lot of people don’t include them now it seems.  They are a little redundant and the Etsy sellers probably don’t want to be wasteful.

I’m not using them – it adds bulk and seemed wasteful. Why address an invitation only to have to readdress it on yet another envelope? Doesn’t make sense.

Inner Envelopes is a tradition that occured from way-back-in-the-day, when the postal service was not as efficient or gentle as it is now. Since the journey mail took was generally rougher, the outer envelope took the beating. Therefore, inner envelopes were used, so that envelope could be clean. (I got this info from the book, “Miss Manners’ Guide to a Dignified Wedding” – I highly recommend!)

That said, it is perfectly acceptable to just have one envelope!
