Now that I understand the difference of inner and outer envelopes (I’m late to the game!), I see how the past invites I’ve received worked.

Anyway, with what I’ve received as a guest, the inner and outer envelopes were addressed the same exact way. I had no idea you could address them differently.

As a guest, I’ve been alotted a +1, but it was never indicated on the inner or outer envelopes, but on the RSVP card. Wow, this gets confusing…

I don’t plan on using inner envelopes and I will have a pocketfold.

I planned on just addressing the outer envelopes “John Smith and Guest” and if it’s a known couple “John and Jane Smith”. (I personally don’t like using the Mr. and Mrs. husband first and last name.)

After reading this post I know my plan is not proper etiquette, but is my plan way off? Would you be offened if you had it addressed “John Smith and Guest” or “John and Jane Smith”?

I also saw someone said they plan on adding the guests names to the Belly Bands. I am using Belly Bands too, I could also add the names to the sticker on backside of the Belly Bands to keep it closed. Would this be better?
