Soo, I ordered my set of Insanity DVDs this morning and I’m pretty excited to get started. I was wondering if other people doing the program are still going to the gym or if you just do the DVD’s. If you do both, what’s your schedule like? Do you still do the DVD’s all 6 days and go to the gym, or do you go to the gym instead of the DVD? I’m in between gym memberships right now and I’m trying to decide if I should join or just stick with Insanity to lose weight.

I’ve done it off and on with a friend who owns them (I can’t wait to buy my own!!). I would honestly start with just Insanity and see how you feel. I literally couldn’t walk the second morning, and I am in really good shape/work out a LOT!
It’s really hard, but that’s what gets you good results. The first two days are the worst in terms of pain and just difficulty of what you have to do. It’s all hard, but I definitely was saying bad words the first few times through. 😉
ETA: I would also HIGHLY recommend watching the DVD before doing it. It’s very, very fast paced at times, so it’s really easy to get confused and frustrated if you don’t know what’s coming next.

I’d say to stick with Insanity for now- it’s a fantastic work out and does a pretty good job of hitting all your muscles! It depends on what you usually do at the gym though, if it’s usually cardio, then I guess you could keep doing that, because Insanity is much more of a muscle work out!
