I’m just curious. I’m generally pretty careful with my online persona and what’s protected. My facebook is super private and I’m pretty careful about what I post. I avoid posting too many identifying details on online forums (like here) and generally try and keep a relatively low profile.
My instagram is currently private – but I keep debating why I bother when if I hastag people can see the pictures anyways, they just can’t follow me.
So I’m curious – do you instagram? Are you public or private? Why?

I have an instagram and it is public. I dont post much or often, mostly pictures of my dogs and stuff so I feel like its silly to make it private.
My facebook is private as private can be though, I still am careful of what I post, but since theres more personal information on there I feel like it needs to be private

I didn’t vote. Needs to have an answer of “I don’t use it”.

I post sparingly, and it’s private. People have to ask to follow me. There’s nothing I’d post there that would be interesting to anyone that doesn’t know me, so it’s not like it would matter if it wasn’t private.

I’m just getting into Instagram. Not a lot of my friends are on it so I barely see the point, but I’m a high school teacher so I like to keep up with these things. Mine is set to private.

I don’t have an Instagram account, or a twitter account. I used to have a Facebook account but deactivated it 2 years ago.

I’m private because I don’t want my students to be able to ‘creep’ on me. 🙂

My IG is private and I’m careful about what I post. You cant see a private user’s hashtags unless you follow them.

My Instagram is private. I used to have a private fb acct but I deactivated it.

I voted ‘what is instagram’ because there was no option for simply not having one. I’ve never felt the need to have one I guess. I already post important pics I want my family to see on Facebook and I wouldn’t share my instragram with the public anyways so whoever I was friends with on both outlets would just be seeing the same pictures.

I don’t use instagram, I don’t get it. Why not just post the same pics to Twitter or FB?

I have a public one but nothing too personal is on it. Mainly nature and food photos.

MsGinkgo: I post once in a blue moon and it’s never anything I would want or need to hide from anyone. It’s mostly just wedding stuff because I limited the number of people who can see my account, so it’s mostly just my vintage finds and other wedding stuff.

It’s public because it’s just mostly pictures of my dog & the occasional trip or cool picture. I’m careful about what I post on Facebook other social media & online in general, regardless of my privacy status. I also think it’s annoying when someone requests to follow me, but their account is private so I can’t really tell who they are :/
