@Sprinkled with fairydust: I am not sure how travel insurance works in the UK, however I do know that here in the US, most companies do not look at pre-existing conditions if the insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit.

You may want to see Insuremytrip.com and see what plans you can find there for UK citizens/residents traveling to the US. I just took a look and there were 3 that came up.

Please do not let the idiot that you spoke to turn you away from trip insurance, you do never know what can happen, and I have had clients that have had to use it for many reasons.

You might also want to see if there is a cancel for any reason policy available. Also have your travel agent check directly with the Tour Operator Vendor used for your vacation. If she used GOGO or Travel Impressions, they both offer there own policy.

That’s outrageous. I’m disgusted. I’m insured already with my bank ….. any chance that’s a possibility for you? Mine is cheaper because I bank with them. Maybe I’m just ignorant but I can’t believe you are penalised for having fought off cancer. Hope you get sorted.
