I need to ship my engagement ring back to the jeweler to get replated before our wedding. They said to ship it via FedEx or UPS and have it insured. I’m afraid that if I tell the person at the counter to insure it for $6000, it may not make it to the destination. Is it sketchy or am I being over-paranoid?
Also, how expensive is it to insure something for that amount?

No, you should definitely get your ring insured. $6,000 ring lost in the mail? i would cry! 🙁 I’m not sure how much it is, but whatever it is, I would do it. 😀 Best of luck to you!

I sent a $1500 ring back via USPS insured mail (vendor would not accept in any other way) and it was only something like $8 for the actual insurance. I think overall it cost $20 to send it back.
