This is something I don’t really talk about with anyone, because I feel like I sound ridiculous or crazy. I’m just wondering if this is “normal,” per se, or something that should be checked into.
Last night this intense feeling of dread came over me, and is still with me right now. The best way I know to describe it is that something just feels wrong. I honestly feel surrounded by darkness…like something so bad is looming before me.
(I feel like I sound so dramatic describing it.)
I’ve had this feeling several times before in my life, and each time I become convinced that I have some sort of intuition about something bad happening…like something is going to happen to my husband or my family. Or maybe me. It feels like it’s never going to end, but eventually it always does, nothing happens at all and I go back to feeling normal. However, a little over a year ago I had this same feeling of dread and we got a phone call that my husband’s brother had been killed. So…after that I’ve become very worried when I feel this way.
I just feel…weird. I don’t know if this feeling is an episode of anxiety or depression, or what. I’m just so worried to the point that I feel queasy, and I’ve been a wreck all day.
Is it common to feel this way from time to time?

I can relate to this. I don’t know if it’s common for everyone, but I get the same way from time to time. And the bad thing about it is that, like in your case, something bad really was happening at the same time I was having the weird feeling, and I found out about it later. I wonder what it is sometimes. I’ve been told by a clairvoyant that it is a form of clairvoyance, but I really don’t know. Maybe it’s just anxiety, but even when everything is going great I still can get these weird, random sensations of “dread.” So, if you’re weird, you’re not alone, lol!
ETA: I just thought of this. I’ve also been told I’m what’s called an empath. Do some research. The description of an empath is me to a T. Maybe it will help explain yourself to yourself. Please let me know if it helps if you do.

this has happened to me numerous times. It sucks because its almost like an alert system that something really crappy is gonna happen soon and there is nothing to do except for wait for whatever it is to make itself known. Or for the feeling to pass. either way its not pleasant and it affects me often. Im sorry your feeling this way 🙁

Ok, so it’s not just me! It usually happens to me when I wake up. I’ve talked to Darling Husband before – it’s just this feeling of intense dread that hangs around! Sometimes I know it’s because I had a big test or work thing coming up, but other times there was no reason for it.
I can’t think of a time that it actually preceded bad news though.

I’ve had this before, probably 8 or 9 years ago. I was never diagnosed, but I’m pretty sure my feelings of intense dread/impending doom were panic attacks. I got them a few times within a period of a week or two and then they went away as quickly as they came.
