CN: various statistics related to soft drinks and associated health repercussions.
The article does go on to say: “Since we haven’t been particularly good at self-regulating–especially our consumption of cheap, abundant sugar, maybe it’s time for a push from our government. “
I happen to disagree that it’s the government’s job to say what I can and can not do with or to my body, but it is still a really interesting article.

Yeah I don’t think it’s the government’s place to monitor food. Does that mean they will take away cupcakes next because I need my cupcakes!

Thanks for posting this, yea I steer clear of soda almost always. It’s just not worth it, but I agree that people should be able to drink however much they want, thats not the governments place.

I have a soft drink every now and then, but definitely less than one a month! I try to get ginger ale or sprite too, since I don’t need the additional caffeine. I didn’t know that too many soft drinks could impact bone health! I guess you learn something new every day, right?

Sugar in general is pretty darn bad for you. Instead of the government putting a ban on sugar, I think it should just try and educate people on how bad it really is.
