@MrsPanda99:  I think after her winky text idiocy the best response would be something along the lines of “LOL!!! love your sense of humor Sarah!  Good thing I don’t have too many sisters or I’d be broke 😉 Should I just wing the registry then or do you have a preference?”

The only way to treat something that ridiculous is to assume it’s a joke and hope the offender realizes that they’re lucky to be off the hook for saying something crimially stupid.

@MrsPanda99:  I would probably attend so not to cause some sort of family rift, but I would likely pick something not too expensive off the registry… like max $200.

How old is she? Does she generally come across as super spoiled and clueless or was this maybe just a huge faux pas and not as horrible as it sounds?

@jennmariee:  This is what I’d do too.

Sisters =/= random cousins.

Oh, that’s pretty forward to come out and ask for a vacation from someone.  I could maybe understand if it was another one of your siblings (asking for you all to go in on a bigger item when you ask her what she wanted) but a cousin…..yeah.

@MrsPanda99:  UM yeah i wouldn’t go. fuuuuck that.

my answer would have been “well what is your price range?” then “OMG WE REALLY REALLY WANT OUR BEDDING SET/CASUAL DINNERWARE/FLATWARE/KEURIG/KITCHENAID MIXER! THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH!”

people seriously lose their minds when they get engaged. that is so not ok.

WOW … she’s obviously in lala land and needs to be brought back down to earth. Who would think that let alone text that to someone! I personally would never ask for that but if I were a normal response who have been “hey thank you so much for asking. we’re actually having a hard time trying to afford a honeymoon so if you’d like you can simply give a check in the amount you would’ve spent on the gift or group-on gift certificate and we’ll apply it towards our honeymoon. if you prefer to give an actual gift example A, B or C would be great! thanks again!”

I don’t blame you … I wouldn’t attend the wedding either.

@MrsPanda99:  LOL Did she really ask for a $2000 wedding present? My jaw literally dropped. This is the silliest thing I have heard all day. Sometimes you just have to laugh.

@MrsPanda99:  Wow. I don’t even know what to say. They were hoping you’d pay for their honeymoon? Just…wow.
