I have an interview on Tuesday for what would pretty much be my dream job. It was would be a significant salary bump (on a great salary track) for me and would finally make buying a house and having a baby a possibility for us. Life changing might be a bit dramatic, but it wouldn’t be far from.
As a result, I am so stressed. I feel like I am going to barf when I think about it. I have never wanted anything so much.
1) How do I calm the heck down? I normally interview really well, but I have never had so much riding on an interview before.
Part of what is stressing me out is that I have to do the interview in english AND in french. I am technically bilingual (my conversational french is excellent), but french is very much my second language and I sometimes freeze on the spot when it comes to more technical terms/responses.
2) Random, but what color shirt should I wear? And collared or a shell? I have a nice charcoal grey suit already, but want to pick up a fresh shirt tomorrow.
(FWIW, I work in government and the job is law related, so fairly conservative.)
THANK YOU for any advice!!

Considering the conservative nature I would go with either a collared shirt a very nice shell in a luxury fabric in a light blue color. It shows you’re not a drone in white but you’re still professional. I interview a lot of people at my job and I definitely notice what they’re wearing.
Good luck! you’ll do fine. Just treat it like a conversations as opposed to a technical question and answer session to keep yourself from freezing up.

Either collared or shell will be fine. I’d wear one that is a not-too-bright color – maybe white, ivory, pale pink, or blue, with nice but not flashy jewelry.
Maybe practice any French that you think you might need for the interview over the weekend? Refresh any of the technical terms you might be expected to know? Good luck!!!

I printed the job description and one of the key documents in french to review over the weekend. Hopefully that will help a little!
I only found out about the interview yesterday, or I would have I scheduled a french lesson just to practice. No time though!
