I am so excited! I have a job interview in a little over a week. It is a company for which I would love to work in the town to which I am moving very soon. The only problem is that said town and interview are a solid 4.5 hour plane ride from where I am right now, and that doesn’t include any potential layovers!
Well, the company is willing to pay for my flight out there and they have gotten me tickets that get me into town about an hour before the interview is scheduled to start. I most likely won’t have time to go to the hotel and freshen up/change between my flight and the interview. So, what would you Bees do in my situation?
1. Wear the suit and hope it stays moderately fresh/clean during the flight.
2. Wear something else and change at the airport.
3. Combination of 1 and 2 (wear suit skirt with a different top/shoes) and change in the airport.
4. Some other option that you know that I don’t!

@Penguingal06: I would change at the airport. you dont want your suit to get all wrinkles or if you spill something on it or get nervous on the plane and sweat in it. Wear something comfortable on the plan and chnage when you get to the airport. I would have your hair and makeup ready though. However, you would need your interview outfit to be carry on just in case something happens to your luggage. do not check your interview outfit. that has potential for a big problem. good luck and congrats!

I had to do this before too and it isn’t the easiest to coordinate but its definitely doable.
I’d either fly in something else and change at the airport or wear part of the suit and change the other parts at the airport.
Personally – I would never want to go through an airport in heels so at a minimum, I’d want different shoes for the flight.

@Mrs.KMM: Oh I completely agree with you about airports and heels! Especially since I found out I have a layover in Atlanta. Yikes!
Thanks ladies, it looks like I will be doing either 2 or 3.

Be as comfortable as possible on the flight, so you can look relaxed and rested for the interview and change/freshen up at the airport with some body spray and a makeup touch up (if you wear it). You’ll FEEL much better and you’ll look fresh and ready. Good luck with the interview!!

Id wear a different shirt and shoes.. then change those at the airport. If you dont have time to stop at a hotel you might not want to have to bring a whole other change of clothes with you to the interview.

I’d change when you get there. Of course carry the clothes in a hanging bag on since you don’t want to loose your bag 1 hr before!
