moderndaisy:  This situation is so stressful. Everyone HATES waiting for an offer, especially when you feel so certain it’s coming. Try to relax and know that at this point, it’s out of your hands.

You are right on the money with the timing though – and yes, Summer slows stuff down BIG time. People are on vacation, priorities are shifted. His offer letter is probably sitting on someone’s desk just waiting for a signature.

Try not to stress!!

moderndaisy:  That’s good news if he does like his job and would like to keep it! It would at least give you some options to start making some moves!

moderndaisy:  That’s awesome! He could take the other one too if it gets offered to him. Glad things have fallen into place for you! My DH got a call from the recruiter, the big guy in TX had called to talk to him about making DH an offer at 6 am (not sure if our time or his) and the guy in Pitt called to ask DH about his experience at 730. My hunch was confirmed that they have taken way too long making a decision that they have exhausted the candidate pool. Hopefully they’ll pull the trigger soon and in our favor! I think we’ll know by the end of the week. It seems there is a lot of top-down pressure to hire someone now. I’m with you on the wanting him to feel fulfilled. This position sounds much more interesting the way he’s talked about it. I want him to be happy.

Where in Philly are you going to live?

moderndaisy:  That’s great that the company he is with approved your move! My DH got the job and starts on the 25th. So our scramble is beginning with 2 cats and an apartment filled with crap to put into another place. I put in my two weeks (scary) and am trying to find something- sending info to specialized recruiters and making LinkedIn contacts to companies I’ve applied to. Hopefully something sticks! Otherwise I’ll be on hiatus from work and shall assume the position of ‘homemaker’
