I’m a little stumped on this one. I want to send invites (I have an aunt who would just have a heart attack if I invited her over the phone!!) to our tiny (25-30 people MAX) backyard BBQ wedding this summer, and am at a loss on the wording! I don’t want it to sound too formal, since it totally isn’t, but don’t want people to show up in their bathing suits either LOL. So far, all I have is this:
First Comes love, now comes marriage
Come celebrate with Merry Widow and Her Fiance as they tie the knot!
Date, time and location / address
Festivities will begin at 4pm with dinner, music and happily-ever-afters to follow
Also, since we’re not announcing our marriage to anyone other than those invited until AFTER the wedding, I don’t know if I should somehow put that on there? Or just take my chances (since I’m sure I’ll be speaking to everyone before the invites are actually sent out, I can mention it then)? Also, I kind of like this wording, because it’s goofy and silly…just like us! Is it too much??
(RSVP Wording)
Who’s in?
_ Will be there with bells on!
_ Will not attend, has bell phobia. Sends Regrets.
I know they’re silly, but they made me laugh…and since they’re going to our parents, siblings, and best friends I think they’ll get it.
What do you all think?
