- Wedding: March 2011
Our ceremony was in a beautiful gazebo in a park. I was prepared for people to be in the park but apparently a man said some inappropriate things to my SIL and the photographer and a few kids were talking during our vows nearby. I didn’t notice either of these which was a good thing. Also, our chairs were never delivered but it probably worked out better that everyone was standing. I’m not going to post it here but it’s one of my favorite pictures. I had bought some rose petals to lay down in the middle of the gazebo where we’d be standing. Apparently they blew away but I didn’t even notice until someone told me later. My husband did write his own vows but decided to wing them at the last second and they were absolutely wonderful with him telling me how I am his soul mate. Our toasts during the reception were also fantastic. My brother, his brother, and his best friend all gave one and all three made me tear up. One piece of advice I have if you’re having a very small wedding is to get one large group photo of everyone. I’m not going to post it here (due to other’s maybe not wanting to be posted on here) but it’s one of my favorite pictures.
The first picture I’ll start off with is me walking down the aisle with my brother. It was the time during the day when all the stress seemed to go away and the general mood seemed to be happy.
I also almost fell down the stairs when I was walking down the aisle due to my heel getting caught on one of the layers of my dress. I laughed it off with my brother though but nobody else seemed to notice.
I love this wide picture of the ceremony. For the album version though I’m having her edit out the tripod.
Here’s my husband winging his vows. He did such a great job!
And here I am reading my vows because I’m not great at winging things.
I loved the picture she got of our first kiss!
Making it legal!
Headed back to the gazebo to see everyone and do some posed pictures.
I’ll start off the reception with some pictures of our yummy cocktail food. Mini crab cakes and homemade potato chips! All of the food, including our dinner which was a choice between fried chicken, filet of beef, and seafood over grits, was a huge success! The tomato bisque with crab was amazing!
Our room was the perfect size for a small dinner reception!
Here are some of the details. First are the centerpieces.
And the favors, which weren’t great looking but the wafers tasted good!
Here’s our guest book alternative which were handkerchiefs that everyone signed!
And the personalized menus that the restaurant provided for us.
Here’s a lovely photo of my sweater, bouquet, hair flower (that I didn’t wear) and a couple of our cards.
And our sweetheart table.
Our beautiful champagne flutes.
Here’s a picture of our cake and cupcakes. Cutting our cake was one of the more interesting parts of the night.
You might wonder why we seem to be laughing.
Yep, it went down my dress.
Here we are again with him attempting to help me get it out.
Here is the champagne toast followed by a picture from my brother’s toast that I loved. All of the speeches were absolutely wonderful!
I’ll end it with this cute little picture from the alley. I loved the whole day though, it was completely wonderful and even with a few snags along the way, everything was perfect!
