- Wedding: March 2011
I figured I’d go ahead and start my recaps with some getting ready pictures, details, and first look/bride and groom pictures. I woke up at 7:00 AM that day even though I had gone to bed at about 3:00 AM the night before. It was a very relaxing day though filled with all the people we loved. I am so glad that we had a small semi-destination wedding because it gave us an entire weekend with everyone we care about. I’m also glad we invited everyone to get ready with us even though we ended up starting about a half hour late because it made it so much more fun. I had my normal hair stylist travel to do my hair and makeup which was great because I’m comfortable with her plus she came to our rental house to do everything which only helped me relax more. Almost the whole morning it rained but by the time the photographer got there it was nice and sunny which was fantastic! I also highly recommend the first look because for us, even though we were running late, it gave us some time to calm down and see each other without everyone around us.
I’m putting on my lip gloss in this picture but I love how it shows off my makeup. I have all the bees here to thank for encouraging me to get false eyelashes, I loved how they looked! She also gave me the Aveda lip gloss for free so I could reapply it throughout the day which was great.
The gorgeous detailing on my dress.
I figured I’d throw the picture of our rings into this recap because that’s when she took the picture. I LOVE our rings.
I changed my shoes about a month and a half before the wedding and I am so glad I did. I loved the color and I was able to wear them the entire day.
My Mother-In-Law made my veil for me and I absolutely loved it! The fact that she made it for me only made wearing the veil more special.
It felt like I had about fifty people trying to lace up my dress.
The earrings were really hard to get on but at least I knew they wouldn’t fall off!
This isn’t technically a getting ready picture but it’s a great picture of my earrings.
I love this picture of me seeing my husband for the first time.
Right down this alley was our reception location. It was great staying so close by so it took us about two minutes to get home after the reception. Also, this alley used to be where a lot of duels took place which I thought was pretty cool (I like history so that’s probably why).
My husband loved his crab brooch but it fell off in the car. He said he didn’t even notice until after the ceremony. At least we got some pictures of it though.
I wanted to include this one because my husband says he loves the emotion that it shows. It’s after everything was completely ready and I was stressed because we were about 20-30 minutes behind schedule.
