I am new here, I was directed here by a friend who loved this forum when she planned her wedding and I was hoping you all could help me as much as you helped her.
My my name is Cori and I am a recent enlistee in the United States military. I am planning my wedding in a relatively short period of time (5 months or less) because I leave for basic training in the beginning of October and will be gone for 6 months before shipping off to flight school for two years.
With our situation we don’t have a ton of money to use for the wedding and I was wondering if any Oregon brides knew of any locations between Portland and Eugene that are affordable. We really don’t have a large budget, and I know beggars can’t be choosers, but I would still like something pretty. If anyone knows anywhere that isn’t the usual places that pop up because I’ve looked into most of those please let me know.

Hi! I’m not from anywhere near there, but I do have some ideas that might be helpful! If you would like an outdoor wedding, try looking at a campground. Many have indoor or canopied spaces as well, and they’re generally much less expensive than somewhere that caters specifically to weddings. My wedding was actually at a summer camp, which was fantastic because not only was it cheap to rent, but it has a full kitchen and we were able to bring our own caterer. We were also able to rent it for a full 24 hours, giving us plenty of time for set up and takedown. I highly recommend looking for something like that!

Thank you for the links :). I know I’m being picky but I don’t particularly like the Oregon Coast for weddings. It’s usually very windy, cold and unpredictable with the weather. You’d think with me living in Oregon my whole life I’d know more places. I know one place that I love, it’s beautiful and only $400 to rent, but the problem is it doesn’t allow alcohol and I’m afraid half my family won’t show without at least beer and wine. I know it’s supposed to be “my day” but honestly the most important thing to me is my family and friends have fun.
