I think it’s whatever your preference is.  In my case, both Fi and I have three syllable first names, so I think Mr. and Mrs. John Smith will sound less awkward.

Traditionally, it should be “Mr. and Mrs. John Smith”; however, these days you can get introduced any way you feel comfortable. We are probably just going to have the DJ announce at the end of the cocktail hour to please follow his first name and her first name into the reception area. Neither of us want to have a grand announcement.

We’ll be introduced as “Here are the bride and groom.”  I’m not sure I’m goint to bother changing my name, and my title is technically “Dr.”  I think it’s a little obnoxious to be introduced as “Dr.” on your wedding day, but on the other hand I’m not sure I want to abdandon my title….so it’s easier to just avoid the whole thing 🙂

I know it’s tradition to say Mr and Mrs ‘MAN’ surname but I personally prefer just ‘Mr and Mrs Surname’.  I think that’s how I was introduced.

@nmsoonerbride – I think you earnt your title of ‘Dr’ and I don’t think it’s obnoxious at all!  Be proud of your hard efforts.  🙂

at my sister’s wedding the dj accidently introduced them as mr. and mrs. jane smith. it was an honest mistake. she had done all the communicating with the dj so that was the only name i guess she knew. it was a little awkward though.

I think we’ll do “Mr. and Mrs. John and Jane Smith” just because I like the sound of it. 🙂
