Good idea, I wish more people frequented our board. Maybe this will jumpstart more people into posting more. I’ll go first!

How did you meet your FH?
We met in college through friends at a bar!

How long have you known your FH?
A little over three years, dating for a little over two and a half.

How big is your wedding?
We are inviting 150 (including kids) but only expect about 100-120 to show up.

If you had to describe your wedding in three words, what would they be?
Secular, summer-y, DIY ? Hard to pick 3 words πŸ™‚

When you’re not planning your wedding, how do you spend your time?
Working, having friends over, or playing with our dog

What has been the biggest challenge in planning your wedding
Budgeting what I want vs what I’m comfortable blowing in one day πŸ™ It’s also oddly difficult choosing bridesmaid dresses in the particular color/length/formality/price I want!

How long have you known your FH?8 1/2 years!

How big is your wedding? We invited about 130 and 75 were present (we got married in Austin.)

If you had to describe your wedding in three words, what would they be?DIY, Italian Country, and White (as in white was the feature color as we got married outside.)

When you’re not planning your wedding, how do you spend your time?Since the wedding is over, I have become obsessed with our new house: painting, remodeling, decorating. Also we love to travel and go on several trips a year.

What has been the biggest challenge in planning your weddingBudget & DIY projects. I DIY my invitations, programs, escort cards, table numbers, throwie lights for paper lanterns, cupcake stand, favor bags, welcome bags, centerpeices, bouquets and boutineers.

How did you meet your FH?  I remember the first time I saw him, on his first day at the Peabody Hotel. It took almost a year before we both mustered up enough courage to talk to each other.

How long have you known your FH? Technically, a little over three years. But we didn’t really start talking until a little more than two years ago.

How big is your wedding?  Right now the guest list is at around 375- which is bigger than I was hoping for, but we come from different cities and it is hard to avoid it.

If you had to describe your wedding in three words, what would they be? Candlelight, Romance, Elegance

When you’re not planning your wedding, how do you spend your time?  I love taking our dog to the dog park or hanging out with the Fiance watching movies or our weekly tv shows.

What has been the biggest challenge in planning your wedding?  Budget and photography. It’s been hard to find a photographer that we both love and that fits in the budget, luckily the lady whose work I love- is completely awesome and is making a custom package for us.

@HobbyLobbyist:  We have booked our venue/caterer (Texas Star Golf Course in Euless), photographer, officiant, cake baker, and ceremony musician. I have also bought my dress and we sent out save-the-dates a couple weeks ago. Friends will be helping out in the DJ, flowers, and invitation areas. I think we are done with contracts, now it’s down to just shopping and planning out decor – I have a pinterest account FULL of ideas πŸ™‚

How did you meet your FH?  Well, we are both in the military, and when I got orders to my new command, he was in charge of getting in contact with all new checkins. He called me, and sparks flew just from talking to him. We LDR’d until I finally went to my new command a year later.

How long have you known your FH? almost 2 and a half years, itll be 3 in june.

How big is your wedding?  Around 300 people, but we’re anticipating 50 to 100 more. We are both First Generation Americans; we have family traveling from Nigeria, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, and Italy, as well as all over the US.

If you had to describe your wedding in three words, what would they be? Big, Ohana, Happy!

When you’re not planning your wedding, how do you spend your time?  Working! a 10 hour work day with weekends is a treat to me. But its for the greater good

What has been the biggest challenge in planning your wedding?  Being over 1500 miles away. Im planning my Dallas wedding from California, and while my mother and sister have been a tremendous help, i know that there are things that i will have to crunch and do when I get home  the week before the wedding. The kinda “last minute-ness” is a bit stressful, but it is what it is, I have faith itll be wonderful!

How did you meet your DH? We met in high school, but never dated back then.

How long have you known your DH? Hmmmm, almost 15 years now.

How big was your wedding? We kept it pretty small. The ceremony was held under the pavilion at Centennial Park in Irving, with about 65 guests. The reception was at Samosa Hut & Grill in Irving.

If you had to describe your wedding in three words, what would they be? Quack, quack, quack. (much of it was based around ducks lol)

When you were not planning your wedding, how did you spend your time? Working and going to school.

What was the biggest challenge in planning your wedding? My mother and mother-in-law. Tongue Out

How did you meet your FH?

We actually met by chance through Facebook!  We were both planning to attend the same conference in California and he was reaching out to local people who were going and we hit it off.  About two weeks later we met in person, and the rest is history. πŸ˜€

How long have you known your FH?

I’ve known him for almost 2 1/2 years.

How big is your wedding?

About 85-100 people.

If you had to describe your wedding in three words, what would they be?

Modern, Romantic, Fun

When you’re not planning your wedding, how do you spend your time?

Well, in the last year I’ve spent most of my time finishing my masters degree.  I wouldn’t have been able to get anything really done if it wasn’t for our wedding planner!

What has been the biggest challenge in planning your wedding?

Other than the lack of too much spare time for planning, the biggest challenge we’ve faced so far was having to find a new venue.  The place we had originally chosen kept us waiting to sign a contract for six months before we finally gave up and started the venue hunt all over again.  Thankfully though, it all worked out for the best as our new venue is soooo much better!

  • Wedding: December 2015

How did you meet your FH? My fiance and I met 5 and a half years ago through my friend at the time who was dating him. In October 2007 they broke up after 3 months of dating (she ended it) and her and I drifted apart (no hard feelings between each other, just went our seperate ways) On 14th December 2007 I invited him to my house for a small bbq, and had a little crush on him ( I always thought, aw I hope I find a bf as sweet as him!) My mother and friend were aware of my feelings toward him, so they both pulled him aside and told him to go for me!! He then phoned me on the 16th December 2007 and asked me out over the phone ( I said yes, but was confused as I didn’t know if he was asking me to be his gf or if he was asking me out on a date XD) Turned out it was to be his gf πŸ™‚ Almost 5 years later we’re still going strong, our love growing by the day. He proposed to me on our 4th Anniversary last year, and we plan on having a long engagement while we both finish studying, so will be married in about 3 years πŸ™‚

How long have you known your FH? 5 and a half years πŸ™‚

How big is your wedding? Small and intimate, I used to dream of having a HUGE wedding, but I now only want the people closest to me there (family, close friends) so probably 50-60 people πŸ™‚

If you had to describe your wedding in three words, what would they be? Summery, intimate, relaxed.

When you’re not planning your wedding, how do you spend your time? I haven’t planned too much yet, just have gathered a few ideas, but I’m studying a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood) and have 2 more years to go. I also enjoy painting, reading, embroidering, going to the gym and I work casually.

What has been the biggest challenge in planning your wedding? Picking bridesmaids! I am going to have 6 bridesmaids at my wedding, and I don’t know how the heck I’m going to choose my Maid of Honour πŸ˜› Also, all of my bridesmaids are different shapes and sizes, some are plus sized and curvy, and a few are really slim, so I might find it hard to find dresses for their different body shapes, without having the dresses looking too miss-matched.

How did you meet your FH?

We met in junior high when we were 12!  He was my first boyfriend! πŸ™‚

How long have you known your FH?

22 years now.

How big is your wedding?

He hasn’t come up with the people he wants to invite.  Based on what I know about his friends, and with who I want to invite, at the moment about 70 invitations are going out, but that could easily change!  I’m only expecting around 30-40 to show up, and that includes kids.

If you had to describe your wedding in three words, what would they be?

Pi, Sci-Fi, fun!

When you’re not planning your wedding, how do you spend your time?

Working, reading, crochet, catching up on Star Trek and Doctor Who, and playing games.

What has been the biggest challenge in planning your wedding?

So far, the biggest challenge has been getting him to do some of the things I’m asking him to.  Right now, it’s coming up with a guest list and approving who to call for venue information.
