@HobbyLobbyist:  I wish he could give me wine but since we’re doing a hotel wedding I have to do everything through the hotel. I may have my fav wine brought in though so I can drink what I want 🙂

So far for planning I have venue, food, cake, dj, dress

I need: bridesmaids dresses, flowers, invites, pastor, all of the “finishing touches”, and photography.

I’m hoping to go to the bridal show the weekend after next and maybe finish up some things. Are you going to it?

How did you meet your FH?

We actually met online. He lived here and I lived in Missouri. We talked and texted, but I didn’t think much of it. I didn’t really believe in long distance. Then one day he texted me, “I’m coming to Missouri. Just got my plane ticket.” So he came and that was that. I was his.

How long have you known your FH?

We’ve known each other for about 2 years.

How big is your wedding?

I’m expecting about 100 people total.

If you had to describe your wedding in three words, what would they be?

Elegant, Simple, Fun

When you’re not planning your wedding, how do you spend your time?

Working! Or studying! I’m so busy. But in the free time that I’m not on here, I play the piano. I lose hours doing that.

What has been the biggest challenge in planning your wedding?

The budget. We’re young and still in school, so we don’t have a lot of money. My parents would love to pay for our wedding, but they’re just not in the financial situation to do so. Trying to keep everything classy and looking nice without having to spend a lot of money.

We booked the grand ballroom at holiday inn express. It wa so ok, it was a bit of a tight squeeze imo. But it was the best deal for the price.

@HobbyLobbyist:  Right now, to not scare people off attending the wedding who don’t understand all our sci-fi references (Star Trek, Doctor Who), I’m planning on putting touches in places, along with all the Nintendo (Mario, Zelda) references he likes.  Mr. M is a big Nintendo fan, especially Zelda.  I would want it to kind of tie in together, and to just be quirky!

As for the crochet…I’m pretty much self taught.  Most of it builds on the same few stitches, and once you get the hang of it, it’s not too bad!  There are some good tutorials on YouTube.

Oh Fun! I never see many posts in the Dallas boards

How did you meet your FH? – Online back when myspace was the “in” social network site

How long have you known your FH? – 5 years, 8 months / dating for 5 years

How big is your wedding? – 150 people

If you had to describe your wedding in three words, what would they be? – Modern, Elegant, FUN

When you’re not planning your wedding, how do you spend your time? – shopping, cooking, spending time with Fiance doing absolutely NOTHING but lazily watching the tube 🙂

What has been the biggest challenge in planning your wedding? – Guestlist and decor. I kept going back and forth on my vision so I have stuff all over my apt that is not even going to be used for our wedding.

How did you meet your FH?

-Through a friend… I needed a date for an event I was planning, and it happened to work out between us.

How long have you known your FH?

-3 years, 4 months

How big is your wedding?

-Oh goodness, still in progress… I’m thinking it will probably be in the 200 range which is where his brother ended up.

If you had to describe your wedding in three words, what would they be?

-Classic, traditional, and elegant?  I have no idea.  My FH is a traditionalist.  I love classic, girly things.  Still trying to figure it all out and put together the vision.  Hard to do without ceremony venue nailed down – see challenge below.  😉

When you’re not planning your wedding, how do you spend your time?

-I send kids to college – all day, every day.  I have no concept of the meaning of work-life balance these days, but I’m hoping to figure it out and get back to pilates.

What has been the biggest challenge in planning your wedding?

-Trying to figure out how to honor my FH’s wish to be married in the Catholic church.  Not only is securing the church proving a challenge, but it’s a religious mine field with my family.

-The realization that my FH’s family list is almost 100 people alone.
