- Wedding: June 2008 - Winery in the Gold Country
I know this has been a long time coming, but as many of you know we’ve been very short on hands on the admin side for the Weddingbee boards these past few months. The community has grown by leaps and bounds, and as such, the boards run at such a fast pace that it’s hard for our current moderators to keep up, especially on very active days!
We’ve greatly needed help in opening up the communication lines between Admin and our boards community; our hostesses and moderators as well have been needing an advocate for their teams so that we’re all on the same page about what’s going on on the boards, what you, our community needs, and what site updates we have in the works. So with that, we’re introducing a new member to our hostess/moderation team: Mrs. Mouse, our new Community Liaison! You may know her as an editor on the blog side of the site up until now.
What will the Community Liaison do?
- Help to expand our hostess and moderation teams
- Communicate board (technical and general community requests) to admin on a weekly basis
- Help the mod team with trickier moderation situations (that go beyond day-to-day moderation situations)
- Communicate to you, our boards community, upcoming features, site outages, and changes to policy/site functions
You won’t see her participating in day-to-day moderation, but she will be handling moderation issues that are passed on to her from the mod team explicitly.
We are excited to expand our hostess team and mod teams to help us shape the hive as the dynamic, fun, and welcoming to hive members! Mrs. Mouse will introduce herself in this thread…feel free to introduce yourself to her, too. 🙂
If you’re interested in joining us as a hive hostess, check out our hive hostess page! We’d love to have you join us to set the tone as a leader of this community! 🙂

Hi bees! I’m Holley, AKA Mrs. Mouse, and I’ll be taking over as your new Community Liaison. If you read the blog back in 2009, you might remember my English-garden-themed Austin wedding or my short Sarah Seven wedding dress. Mrs. Penguin brought me on board to help with editing the blog in 2010, and now I’m excited to expand my role here! You probably won’t see me around the boards too much, as I’m mainly here to support our hardworking volunteer moderators. But I’ll be working behind the scenes to make sure boards features get implemented (like our new self-deletion feature you guys requested that is coming soon!) and helping to maintain an atmosphere of fairness and consistency on the boards. You might also see me moderating comments when things get particularly heated in a thread, and making official announcements about policy and features on the boards.
While I’m not new to Weddingbee, I am fairly new to the boards, so let’s get to know each other a bit. Tell me your name and/or username, status (married, engaged, waiting, just hanging out, divorced, etc.), your favorite area of the boards to hang out in, one interesting or embarrassing fact about yourself, and what you do when you’re not on Weddingbee. I’ll go first:
I’m Holley/Mrs. Mouse, married to the Dude for three years. When I’m on the boards, I love hanging out in The Lounge so I can talk about my latest TV obsessions (like Downton Abbey, Supernatural, and Glee). And that’s the embarrassing fact about myself: I am a bit too obsessed with Glee for someone who is turning 30 this year! When I’m not on Weddingbee I’m taking care of my 2.5-month-old baby, O, reading whatever I can get my hands on, and watching ridiculous amounts of television (thanks to Netflix streaming and Hulu Plus!).

I’m MissAsB. I’ve been married 3.5 years. I love The Lounge, Home and Fitness boards! I can’t think of anything embarrassing 🙂 I love watching movies and TV shows on Netflix/Hulu.

YAY! Welcome to the boards, Mrs. Mouse! We’re so excited to have you here!
I’m Gemstone. We’ll be celebrating our second wedding anniversary this summer. And you can add me to the Netflix bandwagon — my husband and I are obsessed. We’re getting caught up on some TV series that we’ve missed, and movie nights are our favorite. 🙂

Hi Mrs. Mouse! Welcome to the boards from Pengoala. 😀 The Mr and I will be celebrating our 2 year anniversary in September, so it’s coming up quickly as well! Like you, both of us are turning (dun dun dun) 30 this year (he just turned 30 2 weeks ago). We also love netflix and hulu plus – We just caught up on Revenge, and love that show!

Welcome, welcome, welcome!
My Dude and I have been together for just over five years, I am USELESS at wedding planning and probably like cats more than the average crazy cat lady (I worry that any children I give birth to won’t be as cute as our cat). Hmm, maybe a slight overshare? :p
Aaaanyway… again, welcome!

Welcome! I’m currently engaged, to be married in October. I like browsing all over the boards but especially the Wedding boards, since that’s what’s most on my mind right now. I’m an English literature teacher but I love trashy vampire fiction, haha.

Welcome Mrs. Mouse! I am engaged and can’t wait to be married later this year. I also love Supernatural!!! Hmm my favorite boards to peruse are my August 2013 board, photo, and video. Embarrassing fact? I’m kind of obsessed with bunnies? >.< When I’m not on WB I’m watching Netflix, reading books or comics, and working on wedding details!!

Hi Mrs. Mouse! I’ve been married 4 mos. I love Downton Abbey so does DH! Since I’ve been married, I’m usually reading/posting stuff in The Lounge or looking at everyone’s pretty rings under Rings. Hmm….embrarassing thing about me? I love cheese puffs and microwaved frozen meals. I eat when I Darling Husband isn’t around to judge me. lol

Welcome, Mrs. M! I’m TexasAggieMom, a divorced MOB in my early 50’s. I joined the Bee last summer when “wedding” suddenly became a frequent topic around our house. My daughter is planning a wedding for late 2013 or early 2014, and her dreams are much bigger than my budget. (Thanks, Pinterest!) The boards I read most frequently are Dresses, Decor and Budget, in an attempt to get an idea what a realistic wedding budget might be. I also stalk the Family board, picking up tips on how NOT to behave as an MOB. The most embarrassing thing I can own up to is watching the Bachelor with my daughter, my mother and a 3-generation group of ladies that’s been following it for over 20 seasons. I don’t watch any other TV, so of all things to actually watch, right? In my free time I enjoy running, reading, and listening to music. The Bee has proven to be a great resource for wedding inspirations, and I spend way too much time on here!

Loving all the cat/pengoala pictures! I think we should start a Downton Abbey viewing club here on the boards. (But first I have to catch up on Season 3!)
@TexasAggieMom: Your Bachelor viewing part sounds like fun! Nothing wrong with a little mindless television here and there. I guess I should’ve also mentioned my addiction to America’s Next Top Model. I have season every cycle (I think there are something like 19!), and my husband even watches with me sometimes. 🙂

@Mrs. Mouse: Welcome to the boards Mrs. Mouse! I’m ScottishMrs and I’ve been married for almost 7 months right now. My Darling Husband and I are currently TTC for our first child and I’m a very active member on the TTC boards right now. My interesting fact is that I’m 20 years old and the oldest of 11 children. I’m almost never not on weddingbee, but if I’m not it’s probably because I’m asleep, on netflix, eating/chilling with Darling Husband, or in one of my university classes. My life right now pretty much revolves around school and TTC, so not too much interesting stuff going on over here. Oh, and I’ve been a member on weddingbee for almost 2 years now but I only found the boards about 3 months ago (I read the blogs up until then).
In reply to your most recent comment, I watched cycle 15 of ANTM all the way through on youtube and loved it! But I can’t seem to find a way to watch the rest of the cycles very easily. Numb3rs and The 4400 on netflix are my current faves.
