can we still be introduced as Mr. and Mrs XXX even though I will not legally change my name– YET. There are too many components to changing my name to take on during wedding, as I am afraid of messing with my medical practicing license.
what do you think?- ok to be introduced as mr and mrs or what do you recommend?
Thanks bees! 5 more days!!!

I say do it! At ur wedding reception your guest aren’t going to be sitting there wondering why your being introduced as Mrs. XYZ when your still Ms. ABC. Think about it this way, no bride is offically and legally Mrs. anything when they get married and are introduced at the wedding. It takes a couple of weeks for the whole name change to be finalized anyway.

I didn’t change my name (and don’t plan to) for professional reasons.. but I was still introduced as Mr. and Mrs XXX. I liked it beause I want people to know that I’d love to be called Mrs. (husband’s name) socially, even though I’m not legally changing it.
It’s your wedding — do what you want! Only 5 more days til your big day.. congrats!! =)

Im in the same boat. Im published under my maiden name and my degrees are in my maiden name so I will legally/professionally be keeping my name – but socially and unofficially am happy to be callled Mrs. Pop and assume thats how we’ll do it at the wedding!
Do you want to change it at some point or are you still undecided? I’m thinking I will change it once I’m established a bit more in my career and/or when we have kids. But then I think I may as well keep my name. Mr has said its up to me but he’d prefer I change it when we have kids… does yours have a preference?

Just a heads up – a coworker of mine says it gets harder to change your last name if you wait more than two years after the wedding. Now I haven’t researched this but it’s something to put out there!
And I say go for the intro!

I’m not changing my name… or at least I don’t think I am unless he starts going by his middle name. I told our DJ we would like to be introduced as Mr. & Mrs. like this: “Here they are, the Mr. and Mrs.”
