My fiancée proposed on a beach. He had me “accidentally” find a buried treasure, which included a pirate map with words will you marry me. To commemorate his proposal, I purchased message in a bottle kits with the intention of using them for the invitations. The problem is that I don’t quite know how to word my invitations in a way that would explain the reason behind the unusual invite. We are having a typical catering hall wedding and I don’t want the people to be thrown off by the invitation. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you bees

@juliasoko: Aww what a great proposal story! Why don’t you just do the formal regular worded invitations and throw in the proposal story on a small piece of paper?

Perhaps throw something into your wording about love being life’s greatest treasure?

Something like He hid the treasure on the beach and I found it. Come celebrate the bounty with us…
Or The treasure was buried deep beneath the sands of (name of beach). He drew a map with X marking the spot. She found the hidden jewel. She said yes.
Ok, I realize I’m not good at creative writing haha. Anyways, maybe that will spark an idea for you. Good luck!

I wished I could, but all the materials have been purchased and we really don’t have any money in the budget for new invitations.
