- Wedding: May 2011
Ah! I got our invitations done up months ago, back when FH wasn’t into the planning at all. Now, 6 weeks away from our wedding, he realizes….we’re having a wedding! And isn’t happy with our invites. Too bad, he said they were “Fine, honey” when I asked him to proof them months ago. His mother is also unhappy about them, because in my invite I just say “please join us in celebration blah blah at 6 pm at this restaurant” and don’t mention 1) that we will be serving cocktails from 6 to 7pm and 2) the fact that there will be a dance after dinner (they come from a culture that doesn’t have dances at weddings.)
So now to appease Future Mother-In-Law I got FH to do up these little inserts which provide a bit more information. About the cocktail hour, and the fact that there will be a dance. BUT FH didn’t put in that after cocktail hour we will be having a ceremony! (sure, mine didn’t say that either, but my idea was people just show up at 6pm and whatever happens, happens-you don’t necessarily have to spell it out do you?)
Now I’m just confused (and think our guests will be too!) when they show up for cocktails at 6pm (we’re going to greet them at the door), and then-SURPRISE! we’re having a ceremony before dinner!(it’ll be pretty informal, not walking down the aisle, just a nice officiant saying nice things)
Does this really matter??
