I went through vistaprint.com. Paid $50 for 100 invites with envelopes. I really liked them, simple, of course. I didn’t need anything flashy, but they went with the vibe i was going for, and my main wedding color. Vistaprint has sales all the time. I plan on getting thank yous there also.

I also went vistaprint route and spent about $100 for 200 invitiations with envelopes during a sale. It mainly tells people to visit our wedding website for the most curernt information and to RSVP so I didn’t see the point in spending hundreds of dollars to get the invites and hundreds more on stamps.

I spent about 120 for 100 from American wedding I think it was.  We ordered samples from a bunch of places and there were discount codes in the wedding magazines that were pretty good.  Thank you and save the dates were like 25 each from clarkcolor.com. they had pictures of us on both

AddieNicole:  Check groupon as well. Zazzle usually has a great deal if you’re not looking for a wedding invite suite.

Like you said $300 for paper. Consider how much the invitation matters. I know it seems super important and sets the tone, however at the end of the day most people throw them in the garbage. If you can live with something else I would wait. Traditionally invitations go out at 6-8 weeks and even if you have a month for production/addressing/actually mailing, you still have a solid 4-5 months for the sale to come up again. Davids Bridal is all about weddings and weddings happen all year…my guess is that there will be a sale again, just sign up for e-mails. You could even call them and ask how often the sales come up, sometimes sales reps have no problem telling you.

Good luck!

Are you crafty at all? I DIY’d my invitations and they came out to about $1 each. I had 130 invitations and spent about $145. It takes a while but I loved the way mine came out and it was an added bonus that nobody else will ever have my invitations! 8 months out, if its something you’re interested in, you have plenty of time!

I bought my invitation kit on Amazon for $14 for 50 invites, save the dates, reponse cards, thank you notes, and stationary and used Avery online editing software to design and print myself.

I had a friend design them and printed them out at a local print shop on textured paper. Didn’t to return cards or anything, just a plain invite with a wedding website and online RSVP. It took 15 minutes and it cost $25 with envelopes. And they looked great. Everyone complimented me on the simple design. At the end of the day, it’s all going to the garbage. I’m not spending time or money on something that really doesn’t matter all that much.

AddieNicole:  I got 40 invites/upgraded envelopes and address stickers for $46.00 through Vista Print. I hated spending even that though, and am not picky about paper that is going to be trashed. I thought they turned out really nice.

If you decide to go with David’s Bridal, they will almost certainly have the sale again, so don’t feel like you have to order them now, esp since you don’t have the start time!
