Okay i’m so late with my invitations, my wedding is less than 3 months away and I’ve been putting this off because I’m so indecisive on what to do on invitations. Originally, DIY will be fun and creative! But then I didn’t want to hassle with so much paper and wasting paper! So I thought I will purchase it online from "invitations by Dawn" by the Naturally Ever After line. The invite I thought of using since it was printed on "recycled paper" and no envelopes needed – "it’s a send n’ seal"! Thought this is great no headaches just fold and send! But I thought is it too casual and plain for a wedding! here’s from Naturally ever after – I then saw the DIY invitations from Target for $35 bucks! Good deal and I end up saving some money but it doesn’t have the recylcled paper concept I want and using less paper. Do what to do??? Save money… save trees… save time?? What’s the best solution? I’m running out of time. I tested one of the invitations from Target but I still wasn’t satisfied on the look, it was missing something. Here’s what I got – the peony design in pink but i felt like i needed to add to it to dress it up!
So any suggestions on what to do for invitations?! I thought I was creative but trying to come up with the DIY invites was challenging becuase I didn’t want it to look homemade or cheesy!

oh my goodness, reading your post is like reading my own mind! Recyled paper, and all! I, unforunately, dont have much advice yet….I am a September bride and a bit behind you. I would lean towards a simple DIY using the recycled paper that you want. However, I wouls also err on the side of ordering onlne and saving your sanity if you have too many projects right now!

Ugh, invitations. I just finished my third round of proofing (finally no more changes) my invitation order, and will pull the trigger later tonight and send the electronic go-ahead to print. I have no advice for you. I kind of wish that I had DIYed mine, but honestly there is no way I have time. And I love, love, love my invitation designer, who has been tremendously helpful.
I think that the Naturally Ever After is very nice, and (although this maybe circumvents your environmentally friendly goal) if you think they look a little informal, you can always order envelopes for them. But it really depends on your wedding – if you’re having a black tie, chapel train, plated dinner sort of thing they might be a little informal. If your wedding is more informal, they might be just right! Did you order a sample of the Invitations by Dawn invite? That might help.
You also might check what their printing times are. I am thinking I will have to pay a little rush fee in order to get mine in time to mail before the postage change… (procrastination bad).

hey! i tried to post a couple days ago and couldn’t but thought i’d say i bought the naturally ever after invites too! just a diff style (reaching up). i’m getting them today actually so i’m real excited!! also, i think you could get recycled paper envelopes and put your invites in there if you feel it’s too imformal, unless of course your wedding isn’t that formal. ya know? good luck!!!!
