Ok so wedding is in 67 days and I am just now ordering my invitations…. Should be ok though since we are having a small beach wedding with only immediate family and close friends… My ? is what do i put for dress code on my invitation? If I say “Beach Formal” will my FH’s guy friends wear jeans? FH says to put “Beach Formal – no jeans” on the invite and I think that is sooooo tacky….
I am still wearing a wedding dress and he is wearing a suit and tie as well as the groomsmen…

do you have a wedding website? maybe you can specify in more detail what the dress code is on your site without having to put it directly on the invite?

Usually you don’t put a dress code on the invitations, you let the style of the invitation dictate what your guests should wear. Is it really going to be a problem with them wearing jeans? If so I would have your FH talk to them.

I made a little “inspiration board” on our website with some outfit ideas using Polyvore so guests could get an idea of what we have in mind since our wedding is not super formal, but we don’t want people to look sloppy or too casual.
then I added underneath:
We predict it will be hot, as Oklahoma summers tend to be, so please dress comfortably!
This is not a black tie affair. Sundresses and short sleeves are just fine.
Ladies, keep in mind the ceremony will be on the lawn,
so you may want to avoid wearing pointy heels.
Check out the ideas above if you still aren’t sure what to wear.
*Our ceremony will be outside, but don’t worry,
the reception will be indoors and air conditioned!

@jenniferstuart: WOW!!! What a GREAT idea!! I don’t want to seem like Bridezilla but don’t want jeans and sloppy either. Thanks so much for the suggestion I will put it to good use 🙂
