On to the invitations!!! I’ve found a great lady to do them but now I’m not certain what to include… Here’s what I’ve got…
- Standard Invitation
- Reception Card
- Response Card
- Rehearsal Dinner/Direction Information?
I feel like that’s too much!?
Ceremony – 3-4
Bus Pickup – 4:45
Reception/Cocktail Hour – 5:30
Since the reception is at a different location 1.5 hours after then end of the Ceremony I guess I need another card for it?
Also, all out of town guests (read: ALL guests) are invited to the rehearsal dinner. Can I include that information on the “Reception Card” WITH the directions???
Maybe on my formal invite I say (in the bottom left corner) “Reception and Cocktails to follow” and then on the “Reception Card” it includes Rehearsal Dinner, Reception/Bus pickup info, and Directions?
Aaaaaaaaaah!!! It’s too much info, huh?!

I think the main invite should be relatively simple — your names, the date, the time, the ceremony place and the reception to follow. The reception card can contain all the details for the day of (i.e. your bus information, the the reception place and directions). If ALL of your guests are invited to the rehearsal dinner, then you could go ahead and include that info on the reception card. However, if you are running out of space on the reception card OR NOT EVERY SINGLE GUEST is invited to the rehearsal dinner, then I would suggest that it be its own card.

technically, if your reception is at a different location you don’t include it on the main invitation card. you are supposed to include a separate reception card.
here is what we are including in addition to the main invitation: directions card (to ceremony and to reception, map on back), “for your convenience” card (includes a shout out for our wedding website and lists the hotel blocks), reception card, rsvp card.
