I’ve been searching online to find the answer to this, and I realize now that you’re the place to come for solid advice before getting angry at search engines! So, here’s the thing– I designed my invitations using Pages (the word processing program for macs), and I have a question about sizing my document before printing. Whether I print at home, through an online printer, or at a local printer, my question is: does my document– whether pdf, jpeg, or word processing– have to be the literal size of my invitations? In other words, if I’m making 5×7 inch invitations, and printing on pre-cut 5×7 inch paper, does my document have to be saved somehow as, or converted to, a 5×7 inch document? In word processing programs, there’s a ruler on the top of the screen, but no ruler on the side, and I think that when you print you can simply say “size to paper” and the image will automatically fit to the paper, right???
Any experience with this process would be super helpful! I’m sort of savvy about design, but when it comes to sizing logistics, I’m totally lost.
