Yeah, the orangey-red and grey one reminds me of a comic book.  I agree that there are better options.  Can you post what you liked that he shot down?  Maybe we can help you find some more options.

Sorry, I really don’t like that first one that your Fiance likes..(though you don’t either so I don’t think I’ll be offending you) It seems cartoon-ish. I really like the second one, especially if you could do it in blue or one of your colors! I don’t think it’d be the end of the world if your invitations weren’t in your wedding color, but it should kinda match the overall feel you are going for!

I think they should set the tone for the wedding, but they don’t need to be wedding colours unless you want them to. I do really like the last invites that you posted

I like that the last ones are a bit different but still classy

That first one looks like you guys would be getting married in superhero outfits, lol, sorry. The other ones look much more appropriate to me.

I don’t think invitations have to be your wedding colors.  Actually, I’ve never seen that IRL.

I like the orange one the best.

I also agree that the first one looks comic-y. The other two could lend themselves to an art deco or old hollywood/western theme, and no, you don’t have to match your wedding colors (nice if you can, but…)

Who does he think will keep the invites? Maybe parents, but most people are going to recycle them after the wedding.

I like all 3 that you posted, probably the orange one best. If it’s an invitation company they’d probably be open to color changes–you can ask.

Your guests will look to the invitations to find out the formality of the event. This may determine how they dress, so if semi-formal dress is important to you, then I’d reconsider all of these invites. That beind said, they’ll also look at where the event is held. If I saw the Palmer House on an invite, regardless of the invite was more casual, I’d know I was going to a fancy hotel and should dress appropriately.
