- Wedding: October 2013
Who “invites” you to a wedding on the formal invitation? We need three sets of invitations (see below) My parents are helping to pay for the wedding, but my fiancee and I are hoping to cover most of it. I was under the impression that they should be named on the invitation (Mr. & Mrs. Smith request the presence of your company at the marriage of their daughter). We are having three ceremonies (see below). My fiancees parents are not helping with the western wedding, as my parents are not helping plan the hindu ceremonies. My fiancee’s parents want to be named on the invite to the western wedding, as well as the other two. I’m totally confused & this is starting to cause fights – his mother won’t let us order our invites until she approves them/her name is on them. Her reasoning is that my parents can be named on the invitations to the hindu ceremonies, which my parents don’t want since they are not hosting these (they actually won’t be at the one in India!) I seriously can’t believe we’re having this conversation.
