Have you asked your parents if they actually care?

My mother is contributing a very small amount [$300], and fi’s parents aren’t contributing at all.

Mine goes like this.

My mother is “hosting” (although not paying, she would if she could!), she’s fulfilling all “hosting” duties though, so mine will read:

“Ms. (mom’s name) invites you to celebrate the marriage of her daughter, (my name) to (groom’s name), son of (his parents), all the additional info”

In this case, you should put your parents on the hosting line (at the top). You just don’t take that much direct credit, but most people will assume the bride and groom are paying for stuff anywya.
