Ok, so invitations were pretty much the first thing on my mind when I got engaged.
They’re the first thing your guest get to see involving your wedding. So, I rushed out and bought cardstock in the colours of our wedding and starting going at it.
After many attempts I finally came to these: See pics attatched of green invites.
These are mock ups, but generally the idea. (The wording would be in the white area)
But, I have a problem. I made these so long ago that I’m not sure I want to use them anymore.
I spent probably $250 on cardstock, ribbon and embossing supplies (incl. a heat gun), now I don’t know what to do. I need to spend another $50 or so for more paper and envelopes.
I really like some invitations I’ve found on etsy (pic attached of yellow and black invites), and maybe 1 or two on vista print, but I’m not sure if I should buy them…
I put my name in for the free invitations on here, but I didn’t win…poo.
I only need 50. Should I buy them or just keep making the ones I have already started???

If it were me, I would get the invitations I liked, even if it meant I had to spend some more money. Maybe you could use the green paper for something else. I have had a simliar dilemna about my invitations. I wasn’t liking anything I was seeing except for this letterpressed invitation. I didn’t want to get it b/c I thought it was too expensive. My mom and I discussed different options and I was not happy with anything, so I was going to make it—all the headache, time, etc. I love creating things, but with a full-time job and just life, that didn’t leave a lot of time to do any making of invitations. I figured with the time that I would have spent, etc. it’s worth it to get the ones that make me happy and set the right ‘mood’ for the wedding.
By The Way I LOVE THE yellow invites. SO pretty!

I really like the ones you did, that’s amazing!! I’m sad you’re not happy!! Why don’t you order a sample of the other invitations that you found, that way you’re not committing but you can still see it. Good luck!

I love the yellow invitations! I agree with the other comment (maybe use the green paper for something else?). Ultimately I would pick the ones you love!!

I e-mailed the etsy seller of the yellow invitations. The damask pattern would need to be changed to a light green, and possibly a turqouise color in the lettering, but I am waiting to hear back from her to see if she will print these for a decent rate. Otherwise, the pdf file is $40 and I can print the invitations myself.
We shall see how this goes!

ooo love the design! If I had bought supplies I would go ahead and finish what I’d started, but this is your wedding – so it’s what you love best. If you really like the Etsy design, then go with that.

You can go here and see my finished invites!
I combined the two ideas!
Thanks for all your input!
