I sent out a batch of invitations yesterday, mainly because I was becoming impatient. I sent out all the ones for out of town guests. We have an RSVP date for Sept. 15 and the wedding is Oct. 27. Is it too early to be sending out the invites?

Definitely not. I am still in the process of making mine, but I plan to send out my first round of invites by early next week with a RSVP date of August 10th (my bday) then send out my B list as I get nos with the RSVP date of Sept 14th.

I think thats fine, I plan to send mine out 8 weeks before I want them back 🙂

I know all about being impatient, it’s all I can do not to throw mine in the mail!
My cousin is getting married Sept 1, and her invitations were mailed last week, so I figure I should wait about five more weeks..we’re thinking mid-August.

I mailed mine out yesterday! 90% of our guests will need to book flights and hotels, so we decided to send them this week. Now I have to try to be patient for the RSVPs!

I just got our invitations printed, and am planning to send them out by July 23rd. Our RSVP date is September 7, so that gives everyone a little over 6 weeks to respond.

I sent my int’l invites last week, and the rest of the invites went out on Monday. Our RSVP date is Sept 13. We have a lot of Out of Town guests, so it made sense for us. I know that the most common timeline is 6-8 weeks, but I saw on the Knot they reccommend 3 months!
All that to say, no I don’t think it’s too early!

I’m hoping to have mine sent out by the end of the month. I just have to address them first…

I plan to have them mailed out by August 1st as my return date for RSVP’s is September 20th.

I don’t think that’s too early — good for you for writing them out and such. I need to get off my butt and move it hahaha
@Aure: Ditto, lol. I’m aiming to have ours addressed and mailed out between July 27th – 30th. I’d like to get them mailed out by July 27th so they’ll start to arrive right at the beginning of August (RSVP date = September 7th) but if they go out the 30th I won’t be mad at myself, lol. Psssh, that gives them one day to get out to local people which means most out of state people would get them by no later than the 3rd I’d imagine *shrugs*

I haven’t even finished mine yet. I am still waiting to pick the paper for the folders. I want to get them done and send them out as soon as I can though.

Just sent mine out this morning. It was nerve-wracking handing them over to the postal worker!! Our RSVP date is September 1.

I’m back and forth in e-mails with my invitations person today. I’m hoping to go by and pick up the envelopes this afternoon or tomorrow to start addressing all of them, but we’re having to do some last minute tweaks to the actual invites so she’s letting me address the envelopes while she finishes up everything else, and then I’m hoping to drop them in the mail about August 10th.

Man. You guys are on top of things.

Ugh, I have half-a$$’ed invitations sitting on my computer desk right now. I really want to print addresses directly onto the envelopes (my hand-writing sucks and I don’t like labels) but Microsoft Word doesn’t register my envelope sizes. So I’ve massacred just about every envelope I had testing templates and spacing. I got halfway through before I ran out and had to order more, haha. Once they get in I’ll finish up and get them sent out!!! Stoked.
Oh, and our RSVP date is Sept 4, but it’s an Out of Town wedding sooo I better get them out soon 😛
