- Wedding: May 2011
I have been hunting EVERYWHERE online for invitations (until 3 am sometimes!), and finally found the perfect ones at a little shop right here in Wilmington. It’s called Mindy and Angie’s Fine Paper, and since we already live at the beach, it’s the perfect scheme. The paper is a pearlized ecru with a pearlized carolina blue backing, and a teal backing behind that. Envelopes will be the pearlized Carolina blue (hubby loves that since he’s a Tar Heel fan), and we are doing postcards for our RSVP’s (less postage!). The ones pictured below aren’t mine, but the sample that they had already created for someone else’s wedding. My colors are teal and orange anyway, mostly because a)we live at the beach and b) hubby and my entire bridal party went to UNCW and our school color is teal, and I’m now working and attending grad classes there. Is it lame to base our wedding color off of school colors?
Anyway, I’m ordering all the sheets in 8 1/2 x 11 and cutting them down. I can get 2 invitations and postcards per sheet, and we’re doing 100 invitations (50 sheets). I’m cadding it out in InDesign and recreating it myself, so I just ordered the paper from them, and have to get it cut at the print shop at the university.
Total cost so far: $130… probably another 50 for cutting and printing, and another 50 to mail them. Gasp! Way more than I expected but they are perfect!
Anyway, here are the pictures:
