I’ve decided to DIY my wedding invitations, but I’m having a hard time deciding on what kind of paper to print them on.
What kind of paper did you use, and where did you find it?
Right now, I’m looking into using linen paper, but I’m not sure what kind of envelopes to use. I don’t know if I want linen envelopes too. What kind of envelopes would you use?

i’m trying to decide this too! cardsandpockets.com and paperandmore.com both have linen cardstock. i suggest ordering a sample and printing up a mock up to see what you like.
if i choose to go with linen paper, i’ll be using regular envelopes.

I ordered lots and lots of samples from Paper and More before deciding on Black Linen Pockets, White Linen paper, and Black Linen envelopes. Of the paper types they had the linen felt the nicest. In some colors their metalic paper is pretty, but in the black it was a little too sparkly for us.

I’ve been trying to find samples. Thanks for the websites. I’ll have to look into it. We have a little while before we send out invitations, but I’m trying to get a head start, so I’m not overwhelmed later.

I used linen cardstock from Paper and More ($15.00/100 sheets)
As well as their linen RSVP envelopes and invitation envelopes. I felt that the linen cardstock and envelopes together made it slightly more elegant and less “home-made” since I DIYed them.
Also, I used pocketfolds from Paper Source since Paper and More didn’t have the color that I wanted.

@texsylvanian: Thanks for the input. That’s pretty cheap. I’m DIYing my invitations too, so I’m trying to avoid the super homemade look. I want them to look like I actually had someone else do them for me, not like I did them myself.
I’ll definitely be exploring samples. I’ve looked at so many websites and paper, it makes my head hurt some days!

I’m using linen text weight paper and linen cardstock, plus linen envelopes.

@Wannabe-diy-bride: Your invitations look great! Good job! I just ordered some paper and envelope samples. I can’t wait to get them in the mail, so I can figure out what I want to use.
