If you were 11, would you want to eat the adult meal?  If you’re serving lobster, would a kid really like it?  Think about it that way!  10-12 isn’t a huge difference, so maybe look into the savings of doing a couple more kids meals versus adult meals?

I have nephews that are 15, 13 and 10.  The 15 year old would eat the adult meal, hands down.  The ten year old and 13 year old would both go either way – it depends on the meal.  If you’re serving steak, they both would eat steak.  If fish, they would want chicken fingers.

it depends on how many kids you are going to have in that age bracket. I think a 12 year old certainly would not skoff at a kids meal like a 14/15 year old would, but they are right it depends on what the adult meal is, if it is highly seasoned or something they are not used to eating (fish, lobster, a strange veggie) Then I would say kids at 12 for sure.

You should follow up with each guest as to what their child will eat.  Just because you are 10 doesn’t mean you would prefer chicken fingers over a delicious meal with actual vegetables.  Not all kids love chicken fingers and fries.

fish is definitely not vegetarian. there is another group of people, i can’t remember what they are called, who eat fish but not other meats, but that isn’t vegetarians.

vegetarian = nothing with a face
