@mshoagie: That makes sense to me. I think typically you mail 6-8 weeks before the wedding and have the RSVP deadline 3-4 weeks before. Our wedding is larger, so we’re doing more like 8 weeks and 4 weeks for the deadline. Also depends on when the final count is due for your venue?

Sounds perfect to me! Mine is October 30th. Going to mail out invitations end of August, probably about 9-10 weeks before in case of delays in the mail and whatnot. RSVP date is September 30th.

My Maid/Matron of Honor is getting married October 15 and I just got her invite yesterday with an RSVP date of Sept 10.  She’s ridiculously type A and wants everything done ASAP though!  I sent my invites like 6 weeks before the wedding with an RSVP date of June 10, but I didn’t have a specific date to tell the restaurant our headcount either.

Wedding date: October 9

RSVP date: September 23

Mailing: 1st week of August

I am dropping the envelopes off to the calligrapher next week, and they should be done by mid-July. I still have to decide on a way to keep everything neat inside the envelope. I don’t want to do an inner envelope, so I am thinking about a belly band of some sort. Mr. LK and I are going to the paper store tomorrow so I can get some ideas and so we can order the day-after brunch invites and response cards.

We just mailed ours out. Wedding is 10/1 and RSVP by 7/31. We just want to have peace of mind knowing who is coming up front.  And we need time to send out a second round of invites in case many say no. And we happen to know that many will say no as they mentioned it, but due to etiquette we are sending them invites anyways so we can be sure what their answer is before we invite anyone else.

We are mailing ours August first and responses by September 1 because we have to have a FINAL head count to our venue by September 8, so that gives us one week to call people who didn’t RSVP.
