So our colors are Plum and Navy. I have been messing with our invites and we have a ton of color options. I was wondering if our invites need to be the exact shades we are using for the wedding? My problem is the response card. The purple shade is pretty dark which I am wondering if guests will use a dark enough pen to respond. I tested writing on a sample card of the purple and can read it well enough but it is still dark. The blue shades are even darker. Should I use a lighter lilac shade for the response card?

I really like your invites… I like the lighter color for the response card. You’re right with possibly not being able to see the pen on the dark color.
And I don’t think you have to use the exact colors you are using throughout the wedding. Just ones the mesh together.

@LizzieMo: Thanks! Do you think I should use the same color for both the invite and response cards? I am wondering if it will look like a screw up if they are two different colors.

I actually like how they are both different shades of purple. Very nice contrast.
Edit: Just wanted to add that I also think there’s enough difference between the shades that it won’t look like a screw up.

@As_You_Wish: Thanks, The sample of the lighter shade I have is to die for.

I really like the lilac. I think it compliments your invitation card well and you will avoid the pen color issue.
