- Wedding: September 2012
We are have a very small wedding (11 guests + Fiance and me + photographer, who I knew growing up). The judge performing the ceremony is an acquaintence of my father’s. I certainly do not mind him coming to dinner (after all, he is marrying us, and while I do not know him, my father does), but do I need to issue some sort of more formal invitiation? Do I invite him plus a guest? We are doing immediate family only plus my grandma (only living grandparent Fiance and I have) plus my friend who is playing for our ceremony and during appetizers before dinner. My friend is bringing his wife with him, if she can get off work.
There were no actual invitations to the wedding. People will be ordering dinner off the menu at the “reception” – we have a private room in a nice restaurant/inn, so there is no fee in advance.
We live many hours from where we are getting married, so we probably won’t meet the judge until the day or two before – or possibly the day of.
