You can definitely invite them; most of the time, however, the officiants would only stay briefly or only for the cocktail hour. I am a wedding officiant and I usually share a few minutes with the family/friends/couple for questions/photos and then I blend into the background and head out.
Many wedding venues charge half price for vendors or even allow them to be there for free if is only for the cocktail hour. I usually don’t stay when I perform ceremonies but definitelly fell appreciated when I am invited for the event.
You can just say:
“We would love for you to stay for the cocktail hour” this kinda invites them to the wedding, but not necessarily would mean an extra plate on your part.
