You all realize that the President is not actually sending you a letter, right? It’s just an auto-filled letter with a stamp of his signature on it.

Sure why not do it?? I sent our invite to Rush Limbaugh and we had a lovely response from him!

I didn’t know this. Am I the only one who thinks it’s a complete waste of public resources?

@msfahrenheit:  Maybe, but it’s awesome! My Future Brother-In-Law who has Down’s Syndrome sent the prez a letter which he received a response to about 3+ months later. Yes, it was an auto-filled response with a stamp on it, but that letter made his day! He was so happy! Our government mis-allocates so much funds in other ways that I don’t agree with, this is something that can make people feel like they matter, they have a way reaching the president and being heard, even if it is just an illusion.

I did this but not in time and I didn’t send a self addressed stamped envelope as I ran out of time and I live in Canada so it’s a but different, we did not receive anything back yet from the president however we did get a congratulations post card from Mickey and Minnie

@stace0701:  Also, I want to emphasize the you should mail it months in advance if you want to showcase the response. When my Future Brother-In-Law sent his letter, it took 3-5 months (don’t remember exactly) to get his response.

I think it’s fun to invite famous people to your wedding!  We didn’t invite the President…but we did invite my FI’s fave professional athlete.  I haven’t received an RSVP back…nor have I received the invite returned.  We keep hoping for either something autographed or heck maybe they’ll show up (lol okay maybe not but still how fun!).

I love this!  My fiance is a HUGE Coldplay fan, does anyone think this would work with Chris Martin?

@notestasiskis:  How does one go about inviting good ol’ Liz?

@heatherlm84:

The Secretary to Her Majesty
Queen Elizabeth II of England
Buckingham Palace
London, England
SW1A 1AA

Apparently, though, she only replies to English citizens. :/

Citizens of the Commonwealth may also get a reply from the Queen (well, maybe from a corgi or some other staffer anyway). My husband is an Aussie, and we got married in Australia, so we sent an invitation to the Queen and received a response.

We also sent invitations to the White House, Disneyland, and Walt Disney World–we received responses from all of them. Fun letters and things to include with our photos.

@notestasiskis:  Done and done! Fiance is originally from England, and is still a citizen, so no problem there! (I’m originally from Canada, so still the commonwealth)

Thanks! xo

LOL…this is neat!  I have questions though…I saw something about this on pinterest and I thought it said you have to send the request after the wedding??  That doesn’t seem to be others experience.  Also, a pp mentioned not including a self-addressed/stamped envelop.  Is this required?  We’re not even doing RSVP cards…should we include just an empty self-addressed/stamped envelope or an actual RSVP card?  We’re doing an online RSVP…should we actually print that information on invites we send to famous people?
