What if you wrote hor d’oeuvres, and dessert following the ceremony? Then people may be pleasantly surprised by the beer and sangria, instead of disappointed that there is no liquor.

How about “join us for drinks and dancing immediately following the ceremony”. that way its clear a full sit down dinner isnt being served and that there will be some type of alcohol.

If you’re favoring “hors ‘douevres and dancing,” go with it! The desserts, like the drinks, could be a pleasant surprise.
