A lot of this depends on your venue/caterer – when the headcount is due, the numbers on your guest list, and if you want to send one or two waves of invites.

I’m sending ours in Mid/Late feb, with a RSVP date by the beginning of April. That’s pretty early, but I’m anticipating a time crunch and want to give myself enough time to track nonresponders down and do the seating chart. That should get our numbers in about 2 weeks before.

We chose July 31 as our rsvp date (weding is Aug 18).

I believe we are sending save the dates in the next few weeks, invitations toward the end of June, and rehearsal dinner invitations a few weeks after we send out invitations. But as the above poster mentioned, it definitely depends on your venue and your personal comfort level. My mom has had events like this a gazillion times (including my brother’s wedding which was just a few months ago) so that was the timeline that she felt comfortable with.

I’ve heard to send out invites 4-6 months before the actual date. I always feel like this isn’t enough time but they say not to send them to SOON either. Maybe sent out some STD’s (heh) and then around the 4’ish month mark, send your invites?? Timelines freak me out I’m going to need a professional to help me, when the time comes lol

Check with your venue/caterer on when you need to finalize everything.  If its a month in advance have your rsvp for 5-6 weeks prior, for those late rsvp’ers.

If your date is July 21 then I think you should get your invites in the mail by June 9th with an RSVP date of July 10th.

That will still give you 10 days to track down any stragglers.  You may have to adjust this date slightly to accomodate the headcount date.

You don’t want to send out invites too soon.  May would be a little too soon.
