So what does everyone do with their invites after a wedding? Im guessing they usually end up in the bin right?
Spending 100s of dollars just seem so silly to me. Im quite good at digial design ect and come up with the idea to design my own invites and take them in store to be printed for 9cents only concern is these will be printed as photographs.
Im worried that the kind of paper will seem tacky. I can imagine it looking fine with a photo based invite (my partner isnt keen on he photo being used) but for just a simple design image im not really sure about

You can get any image/design you want printed on nice cardstock for cheap- just talk to a print shop or a kinkos even.

Megsky: I did the same thing for my engagement party invites I printed them at Walmart for about .33cents but I choose the matte option so they did not have that typical photo glare they came out very nice everyone loved it and I had a lot of compliment from guest.

I just did this with my save the dates, they worked really well. We used matte as well to make them look more professional. Go for it!

Megsky: I think Costco does prints as well and I’ve heard some other bees use vistaprint with lots of success. Just remember that your invites set the tone for your wedding, so as long as you’re having something casual/laid back I think you’ll be fine. Don’t forget to include the cost of envelopes and postage as well. Another option (for non-photo invites) would be to DIY and print at home, I made these at home for about $0.35 each including the inserts and ribbon.
